Grain Accounting

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Purchase grain from customers and generate settlements.
Operating truck scales. Weighing, sampling, and grading grain.
Communicate effectively with other employees and our remote locations.
Contact producers about grain marketing strategies and try to increase volume of grain handled within our trade territory.
Keeping up on the latest news affecting the grain markets and relaying that information to costumers.
Interpret documents from customers - invoices statements, checks, etc.
Reconcile payments from customers and grain terminals.
Normally requires a college or jr. college degree involving business or accounting. Preferably with a background in agriculture.
Have basic knowledge of cooperative philosophy and principals.
Excellent organization skills
Be able to juggle multiple tasks according to priority, while maintaining accuracy.
Good communication skills
Must be available to work hours not considered normal during harvest.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
